ABOUT

Sonshine Community was established in 1981 as an outreach and service ministry of Gracepoint.

Since its inception the faculty of Sonshine has been involved in the lives of numerous children and their families.

Our curriculum is designed to help children develop an appreciation of their uniqueness and a sense of wonder concerning the world God has created. Developmentally appropriate activities are designed to foster children's social skills, language skills and readiness skills.

Sonshine Community serves children 2 years 9 months to 5 years of age. Pre-School classes are available both mornings and afternoons with extended care offered before and after classes. Flexible scheduling is available to serve your needs.

"Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these."

UPK Providers

We are UPK providers that offer Full-day and Half-day programs and we participate in CREATIVE CURRICULUM

Our Mission

This center is designed to guide the young child’s development and to cooperate with the home in the nurture of physical, emotional, social, and spiritual growth. We desire to help each child develop Christian habits and age-appropriate skills that will enable him/her to succeed both academically and socially.

We want each child to appreciate the wonders of God’s creation and His great love in sending Jesus Christ. We will share with them how to talk to God in prayer and how to follow Christ’s pattern of living in age-appropriate ways.

Our Staff

The teachers are a major part of the children’s lives; each class has a teacher and an assistant to provide the children with the security and love they need in order to respond to their new environment. Children need adults in their lives to help them feel safe and loved; but they also benefit from interacting with the teachers.  Teaching the children to respect their authorities in a respectful manner is something that is caught rather than taught.   If we want children to learn respect, we must treat them with respect and model respect for others.

All our staff have college degrees and/or previous experience working with children in a group setting.

The Sonshine Day care and Nursery School are seen as a service ministry and each person who is part of it is dedicated to giving of her/himself to help children develop whole, happy people.

We are part of Gracepoint Gospel Fellowship and have attempted to keep fees as low as possible while still maintaining a quality program.
